Pre Season Friendly
KIRTON BRICKWORKS 1 SANDHURST FC 1
att: 41
A lot of the readers will be familiar with this fixture, as only in April it was Sandhurst FC hosting Kirton Brickworks on the NSL Hop in front of a crowd of 346 people. This fixture was only set up on Saturday as Thoresby CW had to pull out of the friendly with Kirton.
A few new faces for both sides for this local derby and if anyone thought this would just be a kick about then at times there was the odd poorly timed tackle but the game was kept in good stead by local referee Grahame Mitchell.
The sides kicked off and it was the visitors who took the lead after just 4 minutes, when WILL COX flicked past the home keeper.
The game was played in hot sunshine and players grabbed drinks as and when they could in the heat, as the game continued from end to end.
After 52 minutes, Kirton were on level terms, when a cross from the left wing found the head of debutant STEFFAN FROST who guided his header past the Sandhurst keeper.
Both sides went for the win, but a draw was a fair result for both teams, it was a good run out.
