CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

CAVS COMPLETE THEIR FIRST DOUBLE OF THE SEASON

Notts Senior League
Premier Division
UNDERWOOD VILLA FC 1 FC CAVALIERS 3

Been trying to get to Underwood Villa for a while now to have a Groundhop meeting with them, but it seems that my rain dance seemed to work every Saturday they were at home, but it didnt work this weekend but I bet they wished it had as FC Cavaliers visited Bracken Park and went home not only with the points but completed their first double of the season.

Before the game, I had a chat with match referee Dave Hague and then as the gates opened I was kindly made a cuppa by Mrs Wright Underwood's manager's wife, whilst the manager tried to get the tele working for their son.

Out to pitchside for the match and I was soon joined by FC Cavaliers Chairman Karl White, who had a pie in one hand and a cuppa in the other, he soon demolished the pie just as the players entered the pitch.

The game kicked off and the visitors had the first chance but it went begging, they were made to pay as in the 8th minute, a cross from the left wing was headed home by ASH FOSTER to give Villa the lead.

The advantage didnt last long, as in the 12th minute, a break down the left side, saw a cross followed by a shot being parried away then tucked home by MUSTAPHA JOHN.

Within a minute and FC Cavaliers had turned the game around, when AKO ABDULLAH hot a low shot from 25 yards in to the bottom right hand corner of the net for the visitors to lead 2-1.

Underwood pressed forward and had a couple of chances but they were dealt with by the Cavs defence. On 42 minutes, Cavs played a neat move down thee right hand side and from the cross DAVID KALRPO headed home.

Just on the stroke of half time, the visiting keeper was forced to make a diving one handed save.

The Second Half saw Cavs with most of the possession but neither keeper was being tested but after 83 minutes the game sparked, when Gareth Ellis caught a Cavs players and this produced a bit of a melee amongst some of the players, which then saw a couple of players seeing red cards and a couple seeing yellow.

A good match to watch from neutral view
