CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

AC HIT EIGHT IN MARATHON GAME

Extra Time Project Match
AC WOLLATON 8 MAPPERLEY FC 0
Programme £1
Nottingham Football Centre
Rushcliffe Leisure Centre
West Bridgford Nottingham

I saw this match advertised about a week ago, only last night did I find out that  AC Wollaton were producing a matchday programme, which they are doing for their league games in the NAA.

On arrival, I was met in the car park by CJ, one of the AC players and walked up to the changing room area and was met by AC Owner/Manager Roberto Pietraforte. after a while we were joined by late replacement Referee Jevon Swinscoe who kindly made a donation to the Blog's Charity.

The Extra Time Project is a idea of AC Wollatons to raise awareness for the club and also raise a bit for local charities.

Two hoppers were also in attendance including Brian Buck from Biggleswade and also Chris from Calverton both had come by public transport.

I then made my way up to the 4g pitch in a cage in the rain, but with the pitch being all weather, this game was never in any doubt. I took AC's team photo and the game got on its way and it was AC who looked on the front foot to begin with, putting the Mapperley FC in the visiting goal in to action. It had also been agreed that the game was to be of two one hour halves, so a first for me to watch a two hour game that didn't include extra time.

After just 11 minutes, ADAM MARSDEN headed home after a cross from the right hand side. AC continued to push forward and could have added a few more to their total if not for narrow misses or good stops by the Mapperley keeper.

On 25 minutes, ADAM MARSDEN doubled his tally and also his clubs to send them in to a 2-0 lead to the smiles of the home bench. Mapperley FC had their best period in the game but were kept at bay to long range efforts but at least their heads weren't dropping. On 48 minutes, the ball landed on the left wing about 25 yards out and LUKA PIETRAFORTE volleyed home to make it 3-0. Just before half time in the 57th minute, LUKA PIETRAFORTE smashed home the teams fourth goal.

A quick half time break saw the Mapperley Manager come out of goal and put himself in defence, but this didn't seem to help his side as AC were in control of the game and it seemed a matter of how many would they score in the second hour. After 67 minutes, a cross ball from the right found out ROBERT ENGLAND who chipped the ball home to make it 5-0.  Within 12 minutes, it was 6-0 with a scrambled goal by ROBERT ENGLAND. The game then seemed to slow down a bit with roll on substitutes and we had to wait till the 104th minute for another goal when ROBERT ENGLAND completed his hat trick to make it 7-0. On 113 minutes, ADAM MARSDEN received the ball on the edge of the area before firing home his hat trick to complete the scoring for the day making it a 8-0 victory to AC Wollaton.

After the match CJ and John Manders both made kind donations to the Blogs Charity, taking the amount raised this afternoon to £20 in total, so many thanks to all of you that kindly made donations and with the eight goals scored the running total now stands at £248.25p.
