Precision Notts Senior League
Division One
ASHLAND ROVERS FC 1 GEDLING SOUTHBANK FC 0
This game caught my attention for a couple of reasons, one both sides being away sides on the Notts Senior League Groundhop and secondly Ashland Rovers havent played a home match since November and had to move home to Healdswood Recreation Ground, Mansfield Road, Stanton Hill, NG17 3EE till the end of the season.
The game kicked off and it was the home side on the attack for the first ten minutes but then Southbank got in to the game and looked the more likely to score, though neither side in the first half tested either keeper.
The Second Half saw a flowing game and the turning point came on the hour, when visiitng attacker Adam Thomas saw his one on one effort fly over the bar. This seemed to wake Ashland up and they raised their game and had two penalty appeals turned down by the referee who I felt had a decent match.
After 79 minutes, Ashland had a free kick on the left side which was whipped in by Ben Goss which was met by the head of PAUL REVUELTA who beat the visiting keeper to give the homesters the points in a tight game.
Both sides are a great credit to the Notts Senior League and I hope all will turn out and support local football for the Notts Senior League Groundhop which take place with one match on the Friday evening of 29th April and four matches on 30th April...all information can be found on this LINK
