CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

CAN FLOWSERVE PERFORM THE GREAT ESCAPE?

Precision Notts Senior League
Premier Division
SANDHURST FC 3 NEWARK FLOWSERVE FC 4

A few months ago, Newark Flowserve were rooted to the bottom of the Premier Division Table with just two points and cast adrift from the other teams in the table, after this evenings game, they stand 2nd from bottom, four points behind Cotgrave FC with  two games in hand, so is the great escape on for the newly appointed manager Steve Kirkham's men who has turned round.

The game began brightly for Sandhurst FC as in the 1st minute, they were awarded a free kick some 25 yards out, to which RYAN CHAPMAN hit low in to the corner of the net to give his side the lead after just 66 seconds on my watch. Sandhurst pushed forward and it looked like it was going to be a hard night for the visitors, but on 16 minutes DARYL PRICE hit a crisp half volley as pictured above from 30 yards out to leave the home keeper diving in mid air.

Flowserve then stepped up their game and pushed forward whilst the home side played on the break and it came as no surprise on 33 minutes, when DARYL PRICE put his side in to a 2-1 lead. In the 41st minute, a blunder at the back from Sandhurst left JOE HURST clear to make it 3-1 to the visitors.

After 66 minutes, the game looked all done and dusted as Flowserve's sub RYAN ASHLEY made it 4-1 but no one guessed what was to happen in the final 20 minutes of the game, it looked like Flowserve would push forward and possibly add a few more and like in the past when Ive seen Sandhurst of late, they have conceded a few goals as their heads have gone down, but not tonight, it was Sandhurst who were finishing the stronger and in 83 minutes, RYAN CHAPMAN reduced the score to 4-2. Flowserve began to have a few nerves settling in now and Sandhurst threw a few players forward and on 87 minutes, they were denied a penalty claim, but in injury time of the game, Ref Scott Anderson awarded the homesters a penalty. Usual penalty taker Will Cox picked up the ball, but handed it to RYAN CHAPMAN for his chance of a hat trick on his last match for the hosts before he goes out to work and live in Greece for six months on Thursday. Ryan stepped up and smashed the ball home to give the score line a close feel to it. A really good game of football provided by two clubs at the wrong end of the league table and I must add how well I thought the 3 officials did.
