Pre Season Friendly
OLLERTON TOWN 0 RAINWORTH MINERS WELFARE 2
Att: 106 headcount.
With my son being 11 this coming Tuesday, I had to look at a match quite close to home, as Shawn wanted to go to Willow Family Farm in Shirebrook, as he wanted to sponsor a animal and then go to McDonalds, so I saw that Ollerton were at home and not having seen Ollerton at home for about 4 seasons, this gave me a good opportunity to visit.
A kind greeting from Gibbo and other members of both committees and then it was nice to meet Mrs Mitchell who was running the tea bar, so a nice cuppa was in order before kick off, just before kick off Richard Lane appeared and we had a chat.
The game kicked off and both sides looked evenly matched with the visitors having the first chance of the game quite early on.
On 9 minutes, the ball made its way to the right wing where THOMAS PEREIRA cut inside and hot a cross shot that hit the top inside of the net before bouncing into the net. After 14 minutes, it was 0-2 when SAM DOCKWRAY found himself just outside the area where he lashed home to double his sides lead.
At this point, it looked as if Rainworth may set siege on the home keeper's net and on 25 inutes had a goal disallowed for offside. The half time whistle to be fair came at the right time for Ollerton and also me to go and grab a can of pop whilst chatting with the Sandhurst FC famous Six.
Ollerton came out for the Second Half with a spring in their step and applied a lot of pressure on the Rainworth defence who stood firm throughout the half with out cracking. The closest the homester came to reducing the arrears was in the 72nd minute when Sam Bailey smashed a ball goalbound that was cleared off the line.
There was a £2 admission to the game but Ollerton FC kindly donated the £2 to the blog's Charity, so with the 50p for thhe goals scored at todays game, it brings the running total to £314.50p
