CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

JAMES FIRES HAT TRICK FOR MEVA

East Cornwall League
Division One
MEVAGISSEY FC 6 WADEBRIDGE TOWN FC 2
Admission & Programme £1
Having passed this village football club many a time, it had been on my hit list and today was the time to visit this lovely club. The people that run the club are very kind and polite. The club has a little clubhouse with a bar and snacks on sale, one thing that was a bonus as a surprise was they produced a small programme.

The game began straight from the Meva kick off and within only 9 seconds saw Dingle clear through with a one on one with Hurst in the opposition goal, Dingle hit the ball but it bounced to safety off the keeper. The game was then a bit patchy as both sides struggled to keep hold of the ball until after 30 minutes, DINGLE put the hosts in to a 1-0 lead, but this didn't last long as the visitors were back on level terms within 30 seconds when MARRIS hit a crisp shot in to the bottom of the net.

In the 41st minute, a long free kick by Young wasn't cleared by the visiting defence and JAMES lashed the ball home.

In to the Second Half and Mevagissy must have had a talking to in the changing rooms as they came out fired up and with their first chance of the half on 47 minutes, JAMES hit a 30 yarder that nestled in the net. This seemed to spur the homesters on as they pushed forward and began to play the better football and they got a deserved fourth goal after 56 minutes when JAMES completed his second hat trick in seven days. Wadebridge to their credit pushed forward and didn't give up, but after 65 minutes, Megavissey were awarded a penalty, to which DINGLE duly dispatched to make it 5-1. On 72 minutes, the visiting keeper HURST kicked the ball out his hands and it bounced in the home penalty box and in to the net, only the 3rd time Ive seen a keeper score in over 30 years of non league football! Just the end and the away defence failed to clear their lines and ROTHWELL hammered home to make the final score 6-2.

With the 8 goals scored today it takes the Blogs Charity running total a massive £479.50p
