CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

KIMBERLEY MW RETAIN TROPHY

Horace Hibbert Memorial Shield
KIMBERLEY MW 3 EASTWOOD CFC 2
att: 71

This trophy has been played in honour of Horace Hibbert for quite a few years now between teams from Kimberley & Eastwood and has produced some very good matches and this was no different.

The day began with a game between the two clubs reserve teams and it provided a good match with the Miners running out 5-1 victors..You can see the photos HERE

A good programme was produced for the main match and featured my blog report from last week. On arrival I was met  by the Kimberley MW management Rawds and Brian Franks.

The main match began at a frantic pace with Eastwood going very close after just a minute infact the first 20 minute, the visitors had the best chances and could have been 3 in front. Kimberley in the 29th minute saw CHAPLIN fore them in front. Kimberley searched for a second whilst Eastwood looked a threat and on 42 minutes, a mistake on the half way line saw HALL sprint clear and hit home the equaliser. From kick off, Kimberley restored their lead when SMITH rifled home from a acute angle.

Kimberley kicked off the second half the better side and on 50 minutes, KING made it 3-1. Eastwood began to look a bit tired and Kimberley hit the bar from close distance.

On 63 minutes, from a corner of the left, ALLOPP headed home for the visitors and though the homesters came close and the visitors pushed for a equaliser there was no more goals in the game.

Must thank Kimberley MW for the kind donation of £5 for entry and programme to the game and also Ben Newman, the Pinxton FC Manager who kindly donated £2, so with the 11 goals scored today, the charity blog was boosted by £9.75 to take the running total for The Foxton Centre & Integritas to a amazing £324.75.
