CHARITY NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL BLOG

Each year, me and my wife Hazel have decided to help a different CHARITY, by donating 25p every goal we see at the matches we attend.
Over the years, people and clubs from as far as Coxhoe in Durham down to Penzance in Cornwall have donated as we have visited the grounds and we have raised over £3,500 in the 4 seasons we have run the Charity Blog. As you can see from the Photo above, last season(2014-15) we raised £1325.00 for Support Dogs.

During the 2015-16 season, we are supporting 2 worthy causes

1. THE FOXTON CENTRE
2. INTEGRITAS

Both Charities aid homeless people and people with mental issues and vulnerable adults. So if you would
like to make a donation(no matter how small) and
you see me at a match, please come up to me or Hazel, we would be very grateful. All Donators will get a mention on the blog and the running total is on the left hand side.

Many Thanks

Rob & Hazel Hornby

WEST BRIDGFORD FC GO 14 POINTS CLEAR

Notts Senior League
Premier Division
BEESTON FC 0 WEST BRIDGFORD FC 1
Att: 58
Beeston FC West Bridgford FC
Overnight rain waterlogged a lot of pitches throughout the Country so left only two games on in The Notts Senior League, a wise decision was made to switch this fixture from Beeston to the Gresham Sports Ground to be played in the cage on the 3g pitch.

On arrival, we was met by West Bridgford Secretary Adrian Clark as my wife Hazel had offered to do the refreshments bar, as it was a cold windy day and people would want a nice cuppa.

A few hoppers arrived including a gentleman from Leicester and the famous Hartsthorne Brothers from Ilkeston(who bought their NSL Groundhop Tickets).

The game kicked off and it was Bridgford who were quick off the mark, with a cross from the left side being slotted home by JURGEN CHARLESWORTH in the 3rd minute, but to Beestons credit they battled on and didnt fold.

The swerling wind was playing a big factor in the game, so much as a free kick was given and the ball wouldnt stay still to take it. Both sides tried their best and in the Second Half West Bridgford could have increased their lead when hitting the post then having a shot cleared off the line.

After the match Beeston FC Manager Pat Walsh stated how much the team had improved since I last saw them and was confident that they would put a string of positive results together. On todays evidence I believe they will. So West Bridgford now go 14 points clear, some clubs have games in hand and will have to play catch up and that should provide a interesting last month of the season.

Also felt all 3 officials were very good today, with no cards shown in the match.

The Charity Blogs running total now stands at £554.00
